Allison and Tori were set to go to Paris on March 15, 2020 — the day the whole world shut down. While Allison had been busy planning a trip of a lifetime/preparing to eat and drink their way through Paris, Tori was getting her great-grandmother's 82 year old ring cleaned in preparation for a proposal in the most romantic city. However with flights cancelled and borders closed, instead of flying across the Atlantic, they flew to San Francisco... (which coincidently shut down the very next day). Determined to spend their time exploring, they drove up and down the California coast with a loaf of sourdough, a wedge of cheese, and zero traffic. It was perfect.
Tori proposed in the middle of the Armstrong Redwoods and after — as they strolled through the Sonoma Market gathering items to prepare a celebratory feast, Paris was no longer something they longed for. They'd embarked on a new adventure in a little slice of the earth that will forever be their favorite place.
